What to expect from a Craniosacral therapy session.
Session length may vary between 45 minutes and an hour. On your first session, we will go through a case history/consultation form. That might take anything from 15 minutes to half an hour.
The approach is based on what can be described as a profound listening from the practitioner of the Client’s system. The practitioner follows patterns which appear to be restricting the Client and assists the body’s innate healing capacity to get well and let go of different types of limitations. The Client is fully clothed. It is extremely gentle and deeply relaxing.
The number of sessions may vary depending on each individual and condition. Some patterns may be more superficial, others deeper.
Throughout the session one may choose to talk, or be silent.
Sensations that may be felt can be warmth, tingling, spaciousness, connections throughout the body, a sense of deepening and quietness. The effects can last longer than the session.
It is a gentle therapy that can be used for all age groups from new-born to elderly.
I received CST for many years before deciding to become a therapist. In my case, after the initial choice for curiosity, I continued as part of my own learning journey about the self, healing and my place in our Community.
I am a member of CSTA and studied at CCST in London for my diploma and I am an accredited supervisor with CSTA for craniosacral therapists.
